Work in Process (-week 6-)

Background of Taiwan

Work in Process (-week 5-)
After all this time I am waiting for an email reply from the State of qatar, but not replied. Finally I decided to replace the export destination. Finally, I export the passion fruit syrup to Taiwan.
The reason I choose Taiwan is:
1. natural resources and a relatively small domestic market has made Taiwan depends on foreign trade, which is more than 80% of GNP
2. 16th largest importer in the world

-The Meaning Of Fair Trade-

Fair trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach that aims to help producers in developing countries make better trading conditions and promote sustainability. The movement advocates the payment of a higher price to producers as well as higher social and environmental standards. It focuses in particular on exports from developing countries to developed countries, most notably handicrafts, coffee, cocoa, sugar, tea, bananas, honey, cotton, wine, fresh fruit, chocolate, flowers and gold.

Real developmental Fair Trade is not a gimmick to make more profit but it is a movement that seeks the promotion of the Human Rights and the principles of equality and justice in trade. It is the unfair balance in economics that is the source of pain and hardship, disease and death for millions. The world is filed with food but the few own the food or the many. The poor just can't buy it and the rich will not lower the prices, they are greedy for profit and grow fat on unjust profits. Fair traders gives just wages, fair payments for products and helps people overcome all kinds of exploitation, social injustice and exploitation. When you want to know who is the real fair trade organization just research what development products are they funding with their earnings. They ought to have a direct involvement with the poor.

Fair Trade is more than ethical trading. It spends human effort and earnings to better the lives of the poor. It should not be supporting the rich and powerful.

First Time at Kota Kembang

October is the month of my ups and downs. Where were so many things that happened in my life. Starting from breaking up with my boyfriend, at odds with male friends until going to Bandung for one day. Yeaaaahhh..This is the first time I visited in Bandung. For 21 years had never felt the coolness of Bandung. Perhaps many of you who felt strange knowing that I've never been to Bandung when I was born in Jakarta. Even my English Lecturer was surprised to hear that my statement have not been to Bandung. This become a challenge for me to immediately visit to Bandung in my spare time. Finally with a lot of consideration, I went to Bandung on weekend.

Just in one day, I was able to visit some famous places at there. Started from visiting at Gedung Sate - Parliament Office and then had a lunch at Sapu Lidi  Cafe - Cihampelas area. This cafe provided a menu of Sundanese cuisine and its interior design by Sundanese. I tried to eating Pepes Ikan, Pepes Tahu, Karedok, and grilled chicken sapu Lidi distinctive flavour. I also tried drinking fresh strawberry juice.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at this cafe and the wonderful city of Bandung is stunning.

After had a lunch, I went to Ciwalk Mall, sort of a shopping center with outdoor minimalis design. Here found many clothes shops and cafes to relax. This mall is visited by the majority of many teens.

I also bought Amanda Brownies. its very delicious and famous in Bandung. This holiday was really fun. Just for 6 hours to visit some favorite places in Bandung. Finally i came back to Jakarta at 08:00 PM. That's my vacation experience in October this year :)

It was a memorable moment to celebrated the Christmas occasion in Surabaya. Athough only 3 days for holiday because my campus just gave me a few days of Christmas holiday (24-26/12/2010) but Christmas this time brings joy and peacefull in my family. They can came together to take a moment. In a normal days were very difficult to find this togetherness, because an each family member was busy with their activity in which they lived. Thank You God for Your Blessing to us and given family who loved me so much. I am very grateful for it. Time goes so fast, 2 months later will be celebrating Christmas 2011.

when I was in Elementary School, my Father said to me if i must be an architect like him to build up a new house :D
when I was in Junior High School, I want to be a singer like Celine Dion or be an international model like Naomi Campbell, but my Parents forbid entry in the world of entertainment because it isn't good enough for my personality development.. :(
when I was in Senior High School, my Teacher gave me an advice to get into law school because She thinks that I have a firm and principled character that allows me to become a lawyer
when I was at University (in Surabaya), I began to think that my talent is to be a consultant. based on the nature and disposition of me in the neighbourhood...
maybe my way isn't God way,, but I hope God always give me a power to survive this life to going to be a success person :)
